Sample Validation
Following collection it is often good practice to confirm the samples authenticity and check quality prior to storage as a high contribution to error observed by banked samples is incorrect labelling during collection.
Sample authenticity and confirmation of origin can be validated using genetic analysis techniques, such as microarray analysis, qPCR and capillary electrophoresis. The quality of samples can also be analysed using techniques such as Mass Spectrometry and ELISA.
